Message by the President of AIPA 2025

It is my singular privilege to serve as President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) for the year 2025 and to welcome you to the official AIPA Malaysia 2025 website.

As ASEAN continues to evolve in response to regional and global challenges, the role of parliaments as engines of inclusive governance, institutional integrity and forward-looking policymaking has become more vital than ever. This year, under the theme “Parliament at the Forefront of Inclusive Growth,” we reaffirm AIPA’s collective commitment to ensuring that the aspirations of our people are translated into meaningful action, equitable policies and sustainable development across Southeast Asia.

AIPA remains a pivotal platform for parliamentary diplomacy, fostering dialogue and cooperation among ASEAN Member Parliaments and our valued Observers as well as Guest Parliaments. Through this platform, we exchange best practices, deliberate on pressing regional issues and contribute constructively to the ASEAN Community-building process.

Malaysia is deeply honoured to host the 46th AIPA General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 22 September 2025. This website serves as a central hub for updates, documentation and logistical information related to the General Assembly and AIPA’s ongoing activities throughout the year.

I encourage all delegates, partners and stakeholders to fully engage with the opportunities offered by AIPA 2025. Let us work together to build a more inclusive, peaceful, and resilient ASEAN anchored by vibrant and responsive parliamentary institutions.
